This had been a bad idea from the beginning; vacation with her sister, to a resort hosting a singles week. It was her own fault. Jane had always had issues saying no, not wanting to hurt anyone, so now she was stuck here.
Sure, the beach was beautiful with its white sand, and the ocean was a brilliant blue, but this wasn’t her idea of fun. Organized ice-breakers, games, activities, and the nightly dances – these were meant for people who were on the look-out for someone – like her sister, Nancy.
Nancy was younger by seven years. She was tall (5’10”), blonde, blue-eyed and thin. She had taken after their father’s side of the family. She was stunning, and she knew it. She had blown through four marriages, and was on the prowl again. Nancy begged Jane to come with her. She even paid for the trip with her settlement from husband number four. It would be a sister bonding time. After all, Jane was single now, too.
Jane’s thirty year marriage had ended last year. She had come home from work to an empty house. Literally empty, except for pieces belonging to her family, her husband cleaned out the house, and their bank account. Kind soul that he was, Dan did leave a note telling Jane his twenty-eight year old girlfriend was pregnant and he was going to do the right thing by her.
It was as if he had shoved a knife in her heart. Jane couldn’t have children and in the back of her mind, she had always felt inadequate. She guessed the vows made thirty years earlier meant nothing. So, she was left alone to start over.
Just what does a mid-fifties woman do? It would probably have been different if she had known about his indiscretion, but Jane was totally blindsided. She thought her marriage would last forever. But it didn’t, and here she was, on vacation, with her gorgeous sister.
Jane – plain Jane, that’s what her father had always called her. She was not tall (5’5”), not blonde - mousy brown hair with some newly added blonde highlights. She missed the blue-eyed gene and got green, and she was far from thin. She was a generous plus-sized woman with curves. Whereas Nancy could run around in her bikinis, Jane made sure no one could see her stomach or thighs.
Yes, coming here had been a bad idea. The sister bonding? Laughable. Nancy was surrounded by men. Jane was present, but off to the side, hardly noticed by anyone. Thank god Nancy had insisted on separate rooms. Jane thought they would save money if they stayed together, but Nancy knew she wouldn’t be sleeping alone. In fact, Jane rarely saw her sister before two in the afternoon.
Jane did a lot of walking on the beach, picking up shells, and occasionally venturing into the ocean It was during a cooling dip on the Friday before they would go back home, that she had been caught by surprise. A wave came up and sucked her under. She wasn’t that far out, but being tossed around, she was unable to navigate her feet to stand. Fear was coming upon her, fast.
They were strong arms that took hold of her waist and pulled her to the surface. Jane was coughing, and her arms and legs were flailing about.
“Relax, miss, I’ve got you. You’re going to be okay. Relax.”
Easier said than done, but Jane tried to push her hysteria to the side. She was still coughing, but not moving about so much. She let the arms hold her until she could breathe normally. She got her feet planted on the ocean floor, but still the arms held her.
“Thank you… God, thank you. I don’t know what I would have done if you hadn’t come along.”
Jane turned in the arms that still held her. She was greeted by rich brown eyes, and a perfectly white smile.
“It was entirely my pleasure,” said the man who had rescued her, speaking with a bit of an Indian accent. “As long as you are okay, miss, I will take my leave,” dropping his arms to his side.
“No, wait. You were so kind, please, how can I thank you?”
“Oh, there is no need,” he said as he started to walk towards the shore.
Jane started to follow him. “Please, you saved my life. There must be something....”
“Miss, if you had seen me go under, would you have tried to help?”
“Of course, but....”
“No buts. It’s what one human does for another.”
When they reached the shore, Jane stood in front of him, and stuck out her hand.
“My name is Jane Randall, and thank you,” she said trying hard to sound calm and cool, but looking like a poor, drowned cat.
He gently took her hand in both of his, shaking it.
“I am Manish Gupta, and you are quite welcome. Have a good day, Miss Randall.”
With that, he turned to walk away. Jane didn’t stop him. She watched as this slender, dark man walked down the beach.
All of a sudden, it struck her. Jane sank to her knees and began to cry. If Manish hadn’t come along, she very likely would have drowned. And who would know? And who would care? She had never felt so alone in her life.
Later, Jane went back to the resort, showered the sand and salt off her, and fell into a fitful sleep. Instead of feeling rested when she woke, she was overcome by the need to change her life. She had been hiding for the past year, ashamed of having been disposed of by her husband. Today’s accident made her come away with the desire to live again.
Happy hour started around four o’ clock at the resort. Nancy had only been up a couple of hours. She stood at the bar, tall, tan and blonde, in a beautiful turquoise sundress. There were men all around her, vying for her attention. Damn it, she thought. Where the hell was Jane? Nancy didn’t want to ruin her night wondering where she was.
Jane stepped out of the salon right at four. She grabbed her shopping bags and dashed to her room to change, and then meet Nancy. She had gone and done something she had never done before. She treated herself to a new hairstyle, makeup, pedicure, and bought a new dress. There were only two days left here, and she had decided to live them.
She pulled the royal purple sundress off its hanger and put it over her head, careful not to mess her hair. The soft fabric skimmed over her hips and the drapes accented her voluptuous cleavage. She clasped a shell necklace around her neck, put on the matching earrings, and slipped on her sandals. Finally, she looked at herself in the mirror.
Wow, not for nothing, she thought. I don’t look half bad. The salon had styled her hair short and sleek, very Audrey Hepburn-ish. Despite all the sun block she applied, her skin was a beautiful golden tan, which played up the highlights in her hair. The makeup person had done a great job of accenting her best features, without using a ton of product. Her eyes were a gorgeous shade of sea green. Watch out world, I’m coming, she thought.
Jane entered the bar just before four-thirty, and immediately saw Nancy in the middle of a group of men. Nancy barely acknowledged her, so Jane moved a ways down the bar.
Jane ordered a Malibu Rum and pineapple juice, and looked around. Why did she think tonight would be different? She had been here almost a week. People had already hooked up. The lonely, discouraged feeling started to come over her again, when she saw him.
Sitting alone in the far corner of the bar was her guardian angel. She called the bartender over, and ordered him a drink.
“Compliments of the lady in the purple dress,” the bartender said as he placed a fresh martini in front of Manish.
Pointing to the other side of the bar he said, “The lady right over there. Oh! Where’d she go?”
Jane walked up behind Manish and tapped him on the shoulder.
Manish turned in his stool and took in the sight in front of him. Could this possibly be the same woman he had pulled from the ocean today? A very lovely woman stood before him, with a smile that lit the dark corner.
“I hope you don’t mind. I know it’s not much, but I wanted to say thank you for what you did today.”
“Jane? You bought the drink?”
“Guilty. Anyways, thanks again,” she said, turning to go.
Then she stopped. Jane what are you doing? She spun around, with as much nerve as she could muster.
“Manish, I don’t suppose you’re free for dinner, are you?”
Manish stood up and smiled. For the first time, Jane noticed he was just a little taller than she, and really very slender. For a fleeting moment, she felt like a whale, but quickly shoved that thought to the back of her mind. This was dinner, nothing else.
“I would be delighted,” Manish said.
He placed his hand on the small of her back as they walked towards the restaurant. Nancy’s jaw dropped as Jane and Manish walked by her. In Jane’s opinion, the look was priceless.
The restaurant had doors that opened onto a lanai, used for dancing. It was lit with tiki torches, and fairy lights decorated the trees. Soft music was performed by a steel drum band. Their table was in a discreet corner of the room, and was set with candles and flowers.
The pair refreshed their drinks and ordered appetizers. Jane suddenly felt very tongue-tied. Manish must have sensed this and initiated the conversation, and kept it going when she faltered.
Manish was a CPA at a law firm in Atlanta. His family had moved from Mumbai when he was just a boy. He was forty-eight now and a widower for five years, losing his wife to cancer. Theirs had been an arranged marriage. He explained the practice was still quite common. Parents took into account things like their ages, height, family backgrounds, castes, and even their astrological compatibility. He had only met his wife, Shanti, a couple of times before their wedding.
Jane listened and watched him intently. Manish was very dark skinned, with black, wavy hair, not too long, with just a little gray at the temples. His voice was rich and sing-songy. She was engrossed in his story, asking him questions about their feelings when they met, and how could he marry without being in love.
“We learned to love, and there was always respect.”
“None, Shanti had cancer for many years. First she had breast cancer, then cervical, then finally uterine. It seemed as soon as we thought one cancer was under control, another appeared.”
“I’m so sorry,” Jane said, placing her hand on his.
“Thank you. It was hard for a long time. The first time I slept in our home after she passed was so lonely. I guess I hadn’t even realized how completely I loved her.”
Manish looked up to see tears brimming in Jane’s eyes. As she blinked, one slowly rolled down her cheek. Manish took his finger and tenderly wiped it away. Jane dropped her eyes. She wasn’t sure if she was saddened more by his loss, or for a love that didn’t exist between her and her husband.
At that moment, Nancy came up behind her. “Hey!”
“Oh, hi,” Jane was wishing she would go away.
Manish stood up and extended his hand.
“Nancy, this is Manish. Manish, this is my sister, Nancy.”
The 5’10” Amazon in four inch heels towered over the man. She limply shook his hand and then turned back to Jane.
“I need to go to the Ladies Room. Come on.”
“That’s okay, Nancy, I’m fine.”
“No, you need to come with me. Now!”
Nancy turned on her heel and strode off, knowing full well Jane would follow.
“Will you excuse me for a moment, Manish? I’ll be right back.”
Manish stayed standing, as she rose to follow her sister. He watched the two women; they were different as night and day. Where he felt lightness with Jane, he felt only darkness with her sister.
“What are you doing with a black man?” Nancy demanded.
Jane turned red and her eyes glared. It was all she could do not to scream her answer. She very quietly but firmly said, “Number one, he is not black, he is from India. Number two, what the hell difference does the color of his skin make? Number three, what gives you the right to stick your nose into my business?”
“Look, Jane, I’ve got a whole table full of nice-looking men, more than I can handle.”
“Yeah, all the men you’ve already slept with, or plan on sleeping with. No thank you.”
Nancy fumed, “Jane? What’s gotten into you? You’re all dressed up, for god’s sake. What the hell’s going on?”
“Why, because I decided to dress for dinner? What’s your problem, Nancy? Do you need to me to sit near you, watching you and your men? Am I not 'allowed' to have dinner with whomever I choose?” she exclaimed defensively.
“No, this conversation is over, Nancy. I am going back out there and I am going to have dinner with a very nice man. Have a good night.”
When Jane returned to the table, Manish could tell she was upset, but didn’t want to push. “Is everything okay?”
Jane took a huge swallow of her drink and nodded. “Now, where were we?” she asked, smiling.
Dinner was excellent and the conversation was stimulating. Manish spoke of the years after Shanti’s death, and how he came here at the urging of a coworker.
“I wasn’t keen on coming, but Rob thought it would do me good. He canceled out at the last minute, so I ended up here by myself.”
Jane told him of her sister’s plan for her to come. She briefly spoke of her marriage and the reason it ended. She told him about her job as a catering manager, at a large convention center in Pittsburgh. The conversation flowed easily. They had finished dinner almost without realizing it.
When their after-dinner drinks were served, Manish suggested they walk out on the lanai. Music was playing. It was still warm out, with a soft breeze coming off the ocean. The air was heavy with the fragrance of flowers.
They sat at a table near the fountain. Jane found herself swaying to the slow Caribbean music.
“Would you like to dance?” asked Manish.
Jane was surprised, and a bit flustered. “I’m really not very good, you might regret it.”
Manish rose and held out his hand, smiling his beautiful smile he said, “I’m willing to risk it if you are.”
Manish held Jane in his arms at a respectable distance, and began moving around the dance floor. Jane constantly looked down at her feet, trying to mimic his steps.
“Jane, look at me. I hate staring at the top of your head.”
“I can’t. You dance too well, and I have to see what you’re doing.”
“No, you don’t. Just let me lead you.”
“I can’t, don’t you see? I’ll step all over you,” she said looking down again.
“Rubbish,” he said and he pulled Jane against him. Her body was flat against his. “Now you can’t see your feet and you’ll just have to follow my lead.”
Jane blushed furiously. She was embarrassed about her dancing, but also about being held so close. It wasn’t that she didn’t like it. Quite the contrary, it felt good to be held again.
She finally let herself relax and trust her partner. The couple seemed to move effortlessly around the dance floor, with only an occasional missed step. Manish continued to hold her close, their cheeks side by side, her breasts tightly held against his chest.
Song after song, Manish kept Jane dancing until he asked, “Are you warm? Would you like to take a break?”
Jane drew back and nodded. If truth be told, she was enjoying being held by Manish, and his slow, sensual movements. They returned to their table, and sat watching the others, not speaking.
“Jane, how would you feel about a walk?”
“I’d love it,” she smiled. “I usually walk down to the beach at night.”
They walked through the gate, along the sidewalk to the sand. As they followed the tree-lined path, Manish spotted a red hibiscus flower lying on the ground. He bent to pick it up, and handed it to Jane.
“A beautiful flower, for a beautiful lady; it pales in comparison.”
Jane smiled and simply said thank you. It had been years since a man had given her a flower. When they got to the sand, Jane paused to slip off her sandals, as Manish removed his. He offered his hand to hold her balance, and then he didn’t let it go. The pair walked in silence, hand-in-hand, under the light of the moon.
The water was very calm. You could barely hear it as it came up on the shore. Manish led her down to the very edge, so that the water lapped at their feet as they walked. They strolled for about fifteen minutes, until they could no longer hear the noise from the resort, and the lights were but small twinkles against the night.
Manish stopped and tugged at Jane’s hand. She turned to face him, with a questioning look in her eyes. Manish placed his hands on the sides of her face and leaned into her. Jane closed her eyes as his lips came to rest against hers. His lips were soft, and his kiss was tentative.
Jane realized she had been holding her breath, as he kissed her. She hadn’t moved, and she hadn’t kissed him back. Manish dropped his hands.
“I’m sorry, Jane.”
“Why? Why do you say that?”
“Look, Jane, I obviously misread signals. If I was too forward, I’m sorry.”
“No, no, you weren’t. It’s just, well…. Manish, I haven’t kissed a man other than my husband in over thirty years. I’m a little out of practice, and a whole lot of nervous.”
Jane stepped toward him and took his hand. This time it was she who placed her hand on the side of his face. Leaning close, she kissed him.
Manish returned her tender kiss with one of his own. As she pulled away he said, “I suppose I should get you back now.”
They held hands and walked towards the resort. For some unknown reason they each turned their eyes upward just in time to see a shooting star.
Jane quietly said, “Breathtaking.” She looked at Manish and said, “You know, we should make a wish. Close your eyes and wish, but don’t tell anyone what you wished for, or it won’t come true.”
Jane’s eyes were still closed when she felt his lips on hers once more. Still tender, the kiss lasted longer than the other two. When they separated, they just stared into each other’s eyes, not saying a word.
Manish put his arm around her shoulders and they started to walk again. It seemed natural for Jane to put her arm around his waist. They didn’t speak until they reached the sidewalk, and put on their sandals.
“Another drink?” he asked.
She smiled and nodded, “And another dance?”
Manish chuckled and took her hand. They had to walk by the dance floor to get to the bar. He stopped and pulled Jane towards him. She came into his arms and held him close, resting her head on his shoulder.
The couple danced, talked and drank until after midnight. Jane didn’t know where the time had gone, until Manish offered to escort her back to her room.
They were quiet on the elevator. Manish raised her hand and looked at it, tracing her fingers with his other hand. He discovered that her room was directly above his by three floors.
When they arrived at her door, shyness seemed to envelope the pair. Manish took both her hands in his.
“I had a nice time tonight, Jane. I’m glad you asked me to join you,” he said looking down at her hands.
She stared at his dark hands holding her light ones. She supposed she should feel a little odd about it, but she didn’t. The only thing that felt odd were the butterflies in her stomach. She looked at him, praying he would look up and kiss her.
“Me, too,” she said, noting he was not moving. “Well, I’d better go in.”
He raised her hands to his lips. First he kissed the backs of them, and then he turned them over and kissed her palms. He opened her arms and pulled her hands to either side of him, forcing Jane to come closer.
She slid her hands around his back as she came into his arms. Their kiss was still tender, but no longer tentative. Manish held her close, running his hands over her back, touching her neck, her hair, and sending chills through her.
Jane felt the muscles in his back tense, as she moved her hands lightly over him. Memories of how good it was being held by a lover flooded her. They seemed to be breathing at the same pace. It was as if time stood still with that kiss.
In Jane’s mind, the kiss ended all too soon. She buried her face in his neck and breathed in his scent, as he continued to hold her.
Manish whispered, “I need to let you go in now.”
She lifted her head and looked at him. “Will I see you tomorrow?”
“Let’s plan on lunch, and then visit the bazaar in town.”
“I’d like that,” she said, kissing him once more, before turning to open the door to her room. “I’ll meet you in the lobby at noon?”
Manish agreed and gave her one last kiss, before she turned into her room. “Good night, Jane.”
“Good night, Manish. See you tomorrow.”
After Jane closed the door, she leaned her back against it. She was excited about seeing him again, but disappointed he hadn’t asked to come in. But then, she thought, what if he had asked? Her body was saying yes, but honestly, was she prepared for a vacation fling?
Manish stood waiting for the elevator. His attraction to Jane was a new feeling to him. With Shanti, it had been arranged. It had been his duty. But now, with Jane – his body stirred. There was no question he wanted her, but he felt guilty. Was it fair to be with someone just for a weekend?
Early the next morning, Jane was sitting by the pool enjoying some coffee and fresh fruit, when she heard his melodic voice.
“Good morning, pretty lady,” Manish said as he bent to kiss her cheek.
She beamed at him, as he came to stand in front of her. “Is this seat taken?”
“No, of course not. I didn’t expect to see you until much later.”
Manish looked at her across the table, “Then perhaps it's fate. Perhaps, we were meant to spend the day together. I was thinking of going snorkeling this morning, would you join me? I’ll be there to rescue you, if you get into trouble.”
“I’d love that,” Jane replied.
“I’ll go arrange for our gear, while you change. Meet you at the stand on the beach?”
Jane readily agreed and the two went their separate ways to prepare for their adventure.
The water was unbelievably clear. Manish helped Jane with her flippers and they carefully waded out. When they began to swim, he took hold of her hand. He could see her smiling, even with the snorkel in her mouth. It showed in her eyes.
They were careful to avoid touching the coral reef and steered clear of the jellyfish. The colors of the fish looked like neon lights, in the water. After a while, Manish checked his watch and motioned for them to begin to return to shore.
When they got out of the water, Jane could not stop talking about what she had seen. Her eyes were wide and excited, and she barely stopped to take a breath. On and on, she spoke excitedly, until Manish saw no other option. He stepped forward, cupped her face, and kissed her long and deep.
Jane eagerly returned his kiss. She stepped forward and put her arms around his waist and pulled herself into him. She could feel her nipples harden, under her wet bathing suit. She wondered if he was aware.
Although somewhat surprised, Manish wrapped his arms around her, and kept his lips locked on hers. She felt good in his arms. He liked the felling of her full-figured body against his. It was when he felt his manhood start to react, that he broke away.
He stood with his arms on her shoulders, putting a couple of inches between their hips. He kissed her again lightly, and then smiled at her.
“We should get changed for lunch, and head into town.”
Jane was weak with excitement, and could only nod.
They met about an hour later. Manish’s face lit up when he saw her walk across the lobby. “Do you want to eat here, or head into town?” he asked.
“I’m really not all that hungry. Let’s head in. We can grab something there, if we want.”
The resort shuttle took them into town. Manish had his arm over the back of Jane’s seat, and she leaned into him. His hand dropped to her shoulder, and she moved closer. She smelled faintly of flowers. If they had been alone, he would have bent closer and smelled her hair, her neck, her…. It was best to think of other things.
The bazaar was filled with mid-day traffic. They wandered in and out of the booths, looking at pottery, shell items, and straw hats. Manish bought a wood carving made from lignum vitae.
Jane was drawn to the embroidered linens and batik clothing. She was looking at a semi-shear top made of all the colors of the sea. Manish came up behind her.
“That’s you. You have to get that.”
Jane blushed and looked at the top again. It was low cut, lower than she wore, with thin straps.
“Oh, I don’t’ know. It’s not really me,” she said.
“Are you kidding?” he asked. “It is exactly you. Look in the mirror. Look at the colors against your skin.”
Jane looked at her reflection and had to agree – the colors were perfect. She was looking at a couple more pieces, when Manish asked if she was all right.
“There’s something I want to look at, but if you’d like me to stick by you, I will.”
“Don’t be silly, I’m fine. I won’t go further than one or two booths. Just come back when you are done.”
He gave her a quick peck on her cheek, and then disappeared into the crowd. Jane felt a warm glow come over her. God, she thought, I really like this man.
After Manish returned, the couple spent the rest of the afternoon together, stopping to drink coconut water of the shell, and snacking on fresh fruit. They talked, laughed, held hands, and occasionally enjoyed a stolen kiss. Both of them felt it was natural and right, but they did not speak about it to the other.
On the way back to the resort, Manish made Jane promise to wear her new top. He didn’t know she bought a sea-green wrap skirt to go with it.
Manish wanted to walk her to her room, but she told him she had other things to do, and would meet him later. She stopped by the pool, to check in with Nancy.
“Well, look at those bags. Where’ve you been?” asked Nancy, looking over the top of her sunglasses.
Jane suddenly felt defensive, but kept her voice light. “I went to the bazaar in town. I wanted to get some souvenirs.”
“Why didn’t you ask me to go? You shouldn’t have gone alone.”
“Nancy, you don’t surface until after one o’clock, each day. Besides, I wasn’t alone.”
Nancy sat straight up. “Don’t tell me you were with that…”
Jane bristled, “Don’t you even go there, Nan. Not when I am in such a good mood and having more fun that than I’ve had all week.”
“Stop, okay? I just wanted to check in. Oh, and don’t look for me at dinner. We’re not sure where we’re eating. I’ll see you tomorrow, when we check out.”
Nancy opened her mouth to speak, but thought better of it. She watched her sister walk away. Jane was carrying herself differently, and Nancy noticed. What happened to her?
Jane painstakingly prepared for her date with Manish. Her date, she thought – I’m going out on an actual date. She hummed as she meticulously shaved her legs and arms. She smoothed on lotion over every inch of her body that she could reach. She styled her hair the way she had been shown yesterday, and carefully applied her makeup. She even touched up the polish on her toes. She wanted to look perfect for Manish.
She stood in her bra and panties, and tied her new skirt around her curvy hips. It clung where it should, and fell away, making her look soft and sexy. The silk material felt good against her legs. She reached for the ocean-colored top and slid it over her head.
“No, no, no!” she exclaimed, horrified.
Her bottom lip began to quiver and tears began to form. Because the top was so low cut, half of her bra showed, making her look cheap. She could even see the bra through the arm holes. She quickly threw on a strapless bra she brought with her, but to no avail. There was no way she could wear the top now.
Then she remembered Manish told her it was perfect, and made her promise to wear it. But the only way to do that was, oh god, go braless? She hadn’t done that since she was a teen. Now, with her sagging breasts, she’d look like she was shooting herself in the foot. But, she had promised. She took off the strapless bra, and looked in the mirror.
Okay, not too bad, if she kept her shoulders back. The V of the neckline rested along her substantial globes and if she walked slow enough, their jiggling was kept to a minimum. Still, she felt so naked and exposed, afraid her nipples would show through the fabric, but they didn’t.
She studied herself again. She had to admit, she looked better than not too bad. Her curves were accented, and what she wanted to hide was well hidden. She felt sensual, even sexy. She was going to do this.
Manish stood, nervously, in the lobby waiting for Jane. He wasn’t sure why, but he needed tonight to be special. He had brought her an orchid, and wondered if that was a little too corny. Maybe he should just get rid of it.
Then he saw her, and his heart leaped. She was beautiful. She seemed to float to him, from across the lobby.
He presented the orchid to her and softly kissed her lips. “You’re stunning this evening. I was right, that top is perfect.”
Jane didn’t remember the last time she felt this special. He offered his arm and guided her to a restaurant she had yet to try. The hostess led them outside to a private cabana on the edge of the beach, and told them the waiter would be with them shortly.
The cabana’s opening faced the ocean and allowed full view of what promised to be a phenomenal sunset. The table was set so that the chairs were adjacent to each other, instead of having to sit across the table. Manish held her chair as she sat, and then not wanting to wait for the waiter, went to work opening a chilled bottle of champagne.
“Manish, this is so special, so wonderful,” she said, her eyes sparkling.
He looked down and smiled at her as he handed her a fluted glass. He was caught by surprise that the gesture afforded him a clear view of her breasts. There was a stirring deep inside. She really was getting to him.
Dinner was wonderful – made even better by the conversation. The sun burned scarlet ribbons in the sky as it set. It was peaceful, watching the colorful display, while they sipped the last of their champagne. Manish constantly caught himself stroking Jane’s arm, or touching the side of her face. Jane returned his kisses enthusiastically, at times letting her lips linger longer, and welcoming his advancing tongue.
When it looked as if their glasses were just about empty, Manish raised his in a toast.
“To you, Jane, thank you for making these past two days the best of the week.”
Jane felt warm. She wasn’t sure if it was from the compliment or the champagne.
“Manish, I’ve hated every day I was here up until you pulled me from the ocean. I don’t think you’ll ever how know how grateful I am.”
Manish placed his hand over hers, and raised it to his lips. Without her seeing, he slipped his other hand into his pocket. Jane smiled and then lowered her eyes. As Manish lowered her hand, she felt something on her skin.
“Oh!” she gasped.
Manish fastened a silver bracelet around her wrist. The chain was delicate and it held one charm made from mother-of-pearl. It was a shooting star.
“Oh my god, Manish! How? When? Why?” was all Jane could seem to say.
Manish beamed at her, “Today at the bazaar when I left you. I spotted it earlier and thought it would be a good way to remember your trip.” He toyed with the dangling charm, “Remember?”
“I’ll never forget,” she whispered, leaning over to kiss him. “Thank you.”
Jane kissed him again, deliberately and deeply. His arms went around her and he stood, urging her to come to him.
And she did. Jane walked into his arms with an overwhelming urge never to leave. Her arms went around his neck and she kissed him as a lover kisses. Their kisses became passionate. Manish accepted her unspoken invitation to explore her mouth with his tongue.
Jane moaned as his hands moved on her back, gathering her even closer. Her body began to react to her long-dormant needs.
Their kisses became more demanding. She moved to rub her hardened nipples against him. Manish’s hands dropped to the rounded part of her, below her waist and gripped her there. He moved his hips into her as he held her fast. There was no hiding his desire. There was no need.
Their breathing became fast, panting. It must have surprised them both, because they broke their kiss and held each other tightly, their faces buried in the other’s neck.
“Jane, I need you,” Manish whispered.
She lifted her head to look into his eyes. She found warmth and honesty there. It was like coming home. She kissed him again, moving her body in such a way, that he knew she needed him, too.
Once more, they clung together, kissing, holding, bodies rubbing, until Manish could no longer handle their movements.
“Let me make love to you,” he begged, stepping out of their embrace. “Please, Jane.”
He led her out of the cabana, through the restaurant and the lobby, towards the elevators. When they entered the waiting car, Jane hit the button for her floor, and leaned against the wall. Manish stood before her, and she put her hands on his waist, pulling him closer. She smiled and pushed her mouth against his. Her kiss seemed to want more, but all too soon, the elevator sounded her floor. Yet, perhaps it wasn’t too soon.
Jane grabbed his hand and walked with him to her room. Once inside, Manish pushed her back against the wall and leaned into her with every inch of his body. His lips demanded her attention and hers complied, as the interaction became more heated.
Manish drew back, led her to the bed and sat her down. He sat next to her, stroked the side of her face with the back of his hand, and raised her chin. His eyes asked her an unspoken question.
“Yes,” she whispered, and brought her lips to his, her hand cupping his cheek.
Manish gently lay Jane down, all the while kissing her. He kissed her mouth, her eyes, her nose, her cheeks, and then back to her mouth again. His hands were in her hair, turning her head to give him better access to her neck. One kiss near her ear and she moaned.
He kissed and nibbled the side of her neck, then trailing up and down both sides of her throat. Goose bumps formed on Jane’s skin and when he started kissing along her collar bone, she arched her back and inhaled sharply, her hands squeezing his arms.
“Oh God, my neck,” she murmured.
Manish kissed back up her throat, to her mouth once more, his tongue nudging hers. Jane’s mouth was eagerly devouring his. He again kissed her face, moving towards her ear.
“I am going to dine on your beauty, and gorge myself on your womanhood,” he whispered.
All Jane could do was shudder. His kisses continued downward, filling the V of her top. His hand began to move to the hem of the light shirt, and then underneath it. Jane held her breath as she felt his warm hand touch her belly.
Manish used his fingertips to make light circles on her belly, moving upwards. Jane’s exhale was shaky. Her whole being felt skittish, but she wanted this so badly.
Up, up his fingers crept until her felt the underside of her breast. Another small gasp escaped Jane’s lips, as she felt his hand begin to close over her breast, and its kneading movements begin. Manish moved his lips to hers, and she felt her nerves melt away. His kisses had such a calming affect on her.
As his hand encompassed more of Jane’s full breast, her mouth opened to moan. Manish took this as an opportunity. There was a tango of tongues, as he pushed into her mouth. Jane found herself running her hands through his hair as they French kissed. Her nipple strained and tightened under his hand.
Manish left her mouth, again kissing downward. He moved his hand away from her, and lifted her shirt to expose her wondrous breasts. He adjusted his body to massage one, while he placed his lips over the pink nipple of the other. When his hot wet mouth met her skin, Jane cried out in pleasure, and pulled his head tighter to her breast. There was no mistaking her need, or his desire to please her.
Manish was generous with the amount of time he devoted to Jane’s chest. He discovered how sensitive she was in the crease where her breasts met her abdomen. He was a bit surprised at her need to be sucked hard, and to have her nipples gnawed on. And as much as he could have spent hours rejoicing in their splendor, he wanted much more.
He ended his attentions to her chest and came up to kiss her again. He put his hand on her shoulders and sat her up, before reaching for the hem of her top and lifting it over her head. He knelt on the floor and buried his face between her breasts. He kissed one, then the other, and began kissing down between them, arriving at the waist of Jane’s skirt. He took one end of the tie that secured the skirt to her, in his teeth, and pulled. Jane’s breasts jiggled as she trembled, watching him untie her skirt.
She felt embarrassed and exposed as the skirt fell away in the front, leaving her sitting bare-chested, only in her flesh-colored panties. Manish sat back on his knees, his hands resting on the bed, on either side of her.
“You’re beautiful, Jane.”
“No, I’m not. I’m.…” She tried to speak, but his lips covered hers.
“You are unbelievably beautiful, to me.”
Jane’s hands went to the buttons on his shirt. One by one, she undid them, exposing his dark skin, and then pulling it off his shoulders. Jane traced his nipples with her fingers, before dropping her hand to his belt. She tugged to loosen it, and Manish put his hands on hers.
He pulled her up and took her in his arms. The feel of her breasts against his skin electrified Jane. He touched his lips to hers in a long, slow, loving kiss. He ran his hands all over her back, before cupping the cheeks of her ass, and pulling her even closer.
When Manish ended the kiss, Jane was barely breathing. As he bent to slide her panties down her legs, and help her to step out of them, he kissed her trimmed mound. A shiver ran through Jane’s body. He walked her to the side of the bed and gently helped her to lie down.
She lay there, completely exposed, but now not caring, not embarrassed. Manish dropped his pants and boxers on the floor. His black, uncut cock stood out proudly. Jane just stared, never having seen one like this, and almost feeling unsure of what to do.
He lay down next to her, wrapping her up in his arms. When they kissed, every part of their bodies touched. His hands moved all over her body. His cock seemed to wedge its way between her legs. His kisses were not demanding. They were sweet – those of love.
Manish pushed Jane onto her back again, and took up where he left off, with her breasts. He savored them with his licks, sucks and nibbles. As he covered them with his kisses, his hand moved down over her belly. Jane’s legs opened as he approached her.
Gingerly, he ran his finger up and down her lips, ever so gently pushing in to separate them. As he entered the warm area, Jane gasped. Manish kissed her again, and slowed his movements.
Up and down, Manish ran his finger, neither touching her clit, or her hole. Just lightly rubbing, getting her used to his touch, yet making her want so much more.
Jane was moaning and moving her hips, trying to get his finger where she needed it most. She grabbed at his arm and looked at him, desperately.
“Please! Oh God, please,” she begged.
Manish moved his finger to meet her needs, gently pushing it in deep inside. A guttural sound escaped from within her. He was making his way down her chest towards her belly, with his lips. Light, feathery kisses mixed with occasional licks.
He could feel and hear her hot tunnel begin to moisten. He also heard her breathing become more rapid. Still, he kept kissing lower.
Manish was acutely aware of the scent rising from between her legs. It had been a long time since he had been with a woman, let alone one who was a passionate as Jane. He was going to savor each moment.
He used his hand to open her lips and expose the jewel he was seeking. One touch of his tongue and he was greeted by an astounding gasp, and Jane arching her back nearly completely off the bed. Her hands gripped the bed as she cried out over, and over, and over again.
He pulled his tongue back, but kept his finger moving until her breathing slowed and she appeared less anxious.
“That was the most glorious sound, my darling, and one that I want to hear again."
He concentrated on her now completely wet hole, taking care as he added a second finger. He reached up, seeking a change in texture, the spot that would send her to new heights.
As her body adjusted to the increased thickness, Manish once again sought out her hard pulsing button. He wasn’t as tentative this time, wanting too badly to hear her sounds of ecstasy.
His tongue circled Jane’s clit several times before flicking it. Her body trembled and her hips rocked. The night was filled with mewling sounds coming from her, and the sounds of moisture from Manish’s fingers moving in and out, as he massaged her G-spot.
It was becoming more than Jane could take. The muscles in her abdomen started to ripple. The feeling Manish’s fingers caused was incredible. There was a pressure, but not. It was unlike anything Jane had experienced, and it caused her to moan.
When he heard the change in her voice, Manish increased the G-spot massage, at the same time engulfing her clit and sucking it vigorously, pushing her towards her climax.
Once more, Jane gasped and her hips rose, and her hands tore wildly at anything they could reach. Her head rolled back and forth, and she wailed in pleasure. Manish removed his fingers from her and replaced them with his tongue. He dove in deep to drink from her.
Jane’s sweet juices flowed and Manish lapped at them with his tongue. Jane hiccupped as she tried to catch her breath.
“Please, please…” was all she could mutter, as she tried to calm down.
Manish rose from between her legs and lay beside the trembling woman. He put his arms around her and held her close, kissing any part of her he could reach. Jane turned to face him, moving as close as possible, and being made very aware of his need for her.
She was nervous as she moved her hand down his chest, down his belly, between their bodies.
Her voice sounded shaky as she whispered, “Manish, I want…I’ve never…I don’t know how to touch one like yours.”
“Let me guide you, my sweet one.”
He lay back and took her hand in his and helped her to stroke him. Jane was fascinated by his foreskin, and the blackness of his cock. He was already hard, and as they moved his foreskin down to expose the bulbous head, a drop of precum appeared. Now it was Manish who moaned.
He removed his hand and let her play on her own. Her hand was soft and tender, as she moved it on his cock. Jane felt herself growing excited once more. Manish began to move his hips as her stroking became more firm.
“Manish?” she whispered, “I need you in me.”
He needed no more encouragement than that. He moved on top of her, raising her knees towards her chest and opening her wide. His cock was hard and dripping with precum.
He prodded her wet, quivering hole. The sight of black on white was intoxicating to him. Slowly, he began to penetrate her warmth. As he moved, Jane inhaled deeply, cherishing every moment of the feeling of being filled by him.
He proceeded until he could go no further. Now they were bone on bone, one completely inside the other. Manish looked down at Jane, her face looking soft and youthful. Her eyes opened and they were filled with desire. He leaned down and kissed her, at the same time as he began to move his hips.
Pulling almost completely out, and then pushing back in, his movements were slow and calculated. In and out, watching her face, and enjoying being inside a woman again. Slow, leisurely, sensuous movements.
Soon, the couple began to lose themselves in the moment. Manish pushed Jane’s knees back further, attempting to gain even more access. Jane couldn’t remember the last time a man felt this good.
When Manish increased his thrusts, he stopped holding Jane’s knees and gripped her shoulders. His mouth sought hers with a lustful hunger. The legs he had been holding wrapped around his waist. Jane’s heels dug into his ass, and her arms held onto his back. The couple succumbed to the fervor of the act. Their kisses became urgent and their movements became wild.
Manish’s entire body began to tense. He held Jane even tighter as he lunged forward as hard as he could. Hot cum burst from him, filling Jane with his heat. As he pushed and ground himself deeper into her, Jane’s own juices flooded forth, combining with his. Thrust met thrust as the couple sought to bring fulfillment to the other.
Manish stopped, collapsing on top of Jane, his cock still buried inside her. Each fought to catch their breath, their bodies covered in sweat from their exertions. He raised his head and looked at the captivating woman below him. She smiled at him and moved to touch his lips. The kiss said more than words ever could.
Manish lifted himself off her, his cock slipping from its warm haven. He once more gathered Jane into his arms and held her. Kissing, stroking, and massaging her in loving movements. They stayed this way until sleep fell upon them.
The white curtains billowed in the warm breeze of the morning. Manish woke aware of feeling something he hadn’t felt in a very long time. First, he felt the warmth of a woman’s body lying naked next to his. Second, he felt Jane’s soft hand gently stroking his cock.
He turned to reach for her willing body and brought it against his. She never stopped stroking him as he kissed her. She never stopped stroking him as his hand went between her legs. She was already warm and dewy, and ready to receive him.
He moved on top of her once more, entering her easily, their hips gyrating to the same rhythm. The passion had returned from the previous night. Or perhaps it never left, but simply woke from its slumber.
After their needs had been satiated, they finally spoke, lying in each others arms, their bodies intertwined.
“Jane, my love, you are so wonderful.”
“My dear, sweet man – thank you. You’ve given my life back to me, in more ways than one.”
He tilted her chin, kissed her and said in a whispered voice, “How am I supposed to leave here? How am I supposed to leave you?”
Tears formed in Jane’s eyes. “You are so kind, so giving, so....”
His lips silenced her speech and dried her tears. They stayed that way for a long time, afraid to speak anymore. It was Manish who noticed the time.
“I’ve got to finish packing. I’ve got to be at the airport at eleven.”
“Oh god, so do I! I’ve got so much to do!”
Manish hurried into his clothes, as Jane put on her robe. He was walking to the door when he stopped and turned around. He almost ran to Jane, sweeping her into his arms and kissing her, as if it was the last kiss he would ever experience. She gave back to him, everything she could.
Separating one last time, Manish dug a business card out of his wallet.
“In case I don’t see you, please, please contact me. I’m not ready to lose you.”
Jane nodded and he quickly kissed her and left. One lone tear dropped onto the card.
Jane rushed through her packing and just barely reached the bus stop for the shuttle to the airport. Nancy was waiting impatiently.
“Well, this is a first,” sniped Nancy, “me waiting for you?”
“Sorry, I slept through my alarm.”
Nancy looked at her, squinting her eyes. “What did you do last night?”
“Huh? Oh, dinner on the beach. You?”
Her sister threw her head back and laughed. “Would you believe I double booked myself last night? Oh well, let’s just say two men are leaving here very happy.”
Jane wasn’t listening. As the bus pulled up, Manish came rushing around the corner. His face lit up when he spotted her.
“What time is your flight?” he asked.
“Twelve forty-five. We change planes in Atlanta.”
He reached for her hand, “I get off in Atlanta. I’m on that flight.”
Jane felt a myriad of feelings. Happy to see him, thrilled at his touch, breathless to be close to him again, and sad that she would have to say good bye once more.
Everyone boarded the shuttle. Jane never even saw Nancy holding a seat for her. She saw no one but Manish. The couple sat, holding hands, and whispering. Manish toyed with the shooting star on the bracelet he gave her.
“Do you believe wishes come true?” he asked.
“I hope so,” Jane responded.
As they disembarked, Nancy immediately went to Jane’s side and jerked her around to face her.
“Don’t even tell me you fu....”
“Shut up, Nancy! You have no right to speak to me about what I do with my life. If you feel the need to examine anyone’s life, look at your own,” Jane told her angrily, walking away and leaving Nancy standing with her mouth open in astonishment.
Baggage was checked and everyone headed to their various gates. Manish put his arm around Jane’s waist, possessively. She leaned into him, enjoying having a hard male body next to hers.
Unfortunately, the plane was full and there was no opportunity to change seats. Jane was stuck sitting next to her sister. The first thing she did was put her headphones on so she didn’t have to deal with her.
All through the flight, Jane and Manish stole looks at one another. She wanted him so badly. She needed him with every part of her being.
In Atlanta, Nancy and Jane left the plane to find their next gate for the flight to Pittsburgh. Manish held her hand as he walked along side Jane. They reached the intersection for him to leave. For the last time, he turned to her and drew her close.
“You have my card and I have your number. We’ll talk tonight. This is not over, Jane. I promise you. I never had the luxury of falling in love on my own. But I do now, and I think I am. Be patient, my love, because we will meet again.”
He kissed her good-bye and held her close, whispering, “I believe.”
Manish turned and headed towards the baggage claim. Nancy stood off to the side, hands on her hips, waiting for her sister. Jane stood in the middle, looking at Nancy and thinking about returning home to her lonely existence, and then turning to watch Manish as he walked away.
“Manish. MANISH!” Jane surprised herself by crying out, “WAIT!”
She ran towards him, as he turned back. His arms opened and he caught her as she reached him.
The lovers hugged and kissed and laughed.
“I can’t leave,” Jane said, excitedly.
“Then come home with me,” Manish told her. He kissed her long and deep and then smiled, “I told you I believe.”
