I had been a hockey fan since I was a kid, and I vowed that when I was old enough to go on my own, I would make up for all of those games I couldn't go to. One Spring Friday night, I decided to start making up that lost time. I drove down to the home arena for my local ECHL team, and bought a ticket. I spent those extra dollars to get a seat in the perfect spot - smack dab in the middle of the rink, right behind my teams' bench.
That night, I wasn't expecting anything special, just a great time watching my favorite sport and drinking a nice cold beer. Obviously, I had an affinity for the guys on the hockey team, and I only dreamed of being with one. Little did I know, that dream would eventually become reality.
It was nearing the beginning of the first intermission, and there was a certain player, number 62, who caught my attention. He was skating back to the bench, and I happend to catch his eye too. He flashed me a huge smile, and I did the exact same back. He slowly turned and sat down, taking a big drink of Gatorade. A few minutes later, the coach patted him on the back and told him to get back on the ice. But before he did, he turned around again, looking at me in the eyes, with a feeling deeper than I've ever felt before. I just knew he was thinking about me, and I got that feeling of butterflies in my stomach like a littler girl with a crush.
I quickly remembered that I had the night's game notes, and I looked up number 62. Sure enough, there he was, Rick Hudson. 6'4", brown hair and blue eyes, with a little bit of scruff on his face - just the way I like them. All I could think was, "holy shit". He was literally the most handsome man I had ever seen, outdoing all of those guys Hollywood claims to be the sexiest.
The night just kept getting better. We were up 3-2, and I had just connected with the man of my dreams. All through the game, Rick kept throwing me smiles. I don't know if the game went by so fast because I was having so much fun, or it it was because I couldn't keep my eyes off of him. It was now the end of the third period, and both teeams were tied 3-3. We left overtime still tied. That meant a shootout. First up, Nick Brassard of the opposing team. He skates down center of the ice, picks up the puck, he shoots...and misses! To my excitement, Rick was chosen for the next attempt. Again, he skates down center ice, picks up the puck, he shoots...and it's GOOD! The arena lit up with cheers and energy; Rick just won the game for us! He skates back to the bench, after celebrating with the team on the ice. And while I'm clapping, he says something to me. I read his lips and it was, "That was for you", with another smile on his face.
Naturally, I stay after most of the people had left the arena, looking to get an autograph - at least, that was my excuse. I got up, walked down to the hall leading to the locker room where Rick and a couple of the guys were standing; talking about the game. I was in heaven. Just to be surrounded by these guys was wonderful.
I walker over to Rick, who was now sitting on a bench unlacing his skates. There he was, wearing an Under Armour shirt, with his muscles rippling through. I sat down next to him and said, "You played an amazing game out there tonight", with a smile. He replied, "Aw, thank you. I couldn't have done it without my brothers." You could tell he didn't have a big ego, he just loved the game. He quickly gave me his hand and said, 'I'm Rick." I took his hand and said, "I'm Andrea." We both knew inside there was an instant connection. I asked him, "I was wondering, if you don't mind, could I have an autograph? All I have here are the games notes." He said, "Well, I have to honest here, you are absolutley the most beautiful woman I have ever seen. My hearts beats faster when I see you." I put my hand around his forearm and whispered in his ear, "That's exactly how I feel." (Without the woman part of course...) I told him he'd better go get in the shower now, and I told him I'd wait for him.
About 10 minutes later, I hear Rick yell, "Hey, is anybody in here? I need a towel." I quietly laughed to myself. As it turns out, all of the guys had left, and it was only he and I still there. I picked up a clean towel and walked over to the shower he was in. He wasn't expecting me, so he let out a little, "Oh hey! Nice surprise", with a smile. I didn't mind going in that sweaty locker room because look what I had! There was Rick, with a towel wrapped around his waist, with beads of water still streaming down his abs...Of course I didn't object!
Rick obviously knew what I was thinking. I couldn't stop staring at his upper body. He says, "Go ahead", while laughing. I was laughing too, and I ran my hands over his well-developed abs. Then he asks, "What'd you like about the game tonight?" I said, "I loved it! You scoring that goal was an extra bonus." He goes on to explain the things that happend in the game with all of those fun hockey terms, and when he was done, he asked, "Sorry, did I get too crazy? Do you even follow what I said?" "Absolutley! See, I am one of the few women who comes for the game, and understands what happens. I'm not just another puck bunny. Although, seeing as how I'm here with you now might make me a puck bunny too...", I said in a flirty manner. "I'm impressed", he said, "You're right, most women have no idea what goes on. That just makes you even sexier."
After that, he got dressed. I was leaning up against some lockers, and as I glanced the other way, he came up to me, with his warm body pressed against mine. He gently put his hand around my neck, and kissed me on the lips, oh so passionatley. Adrenaline was rushing through my body, my heart beating faster. It just felt right...and we both knew it.
