The author is concise and doesn't beat the reader over the head with their literary ability. A mark of a potentially popular writer. As social satire, a much more important work. How does this story make the reader feel about society? Is it more telling that these men more or less rape the young woman in the story? Or that said woman looks on it as a source of pride? and what then does it reflect about us, the readers? I don't know the answer to these questions, for I am merely one lowly reviewer, but I think it's thought provoking. |
