I do not believe that either is better, just that they are different. We have "modernized" ours, and that is not all for the better in all ways. Our culture was formerly as strict as yours still is. I do not agree with female circumcision, but I think that the other restrictions have some merit, when I see what happens to marriage when all are not regarded as worthy. I am almost four times your age, but I appreciate your story and others that show the likeness and difference in our experiences. |
