To be absolutely honest, in most circumstances it wouldn't really be mine, but this is fiction you understand! There is an element of truth in it, in that it is based on a passing thought about a real person, but I would never risk my marriage and certainly not with anything as bizarre as this. You find when you write that you are continuously casting around for real time circumstances/situations to use as a 'stage set' for a story. When you find one you put some characters onto the stage and see where it goes (well I do). Sometimes I give myself the lead (and sometimes I give myself the leading lady's part!). Anyway fiction is a damn safe safer than real life .... ask your brother! |
