2007-09-15 19:23:19 | Cindi's Top Tips for Sibling Success | I actually liked this.. go figure! It was funny, and suggestive, and honestly, despite not being the best place to post it, it works. so if anyone reads this and complains, too bad, a little variety is good too |
2007-09-16 12:57:54 | Cindi's Top Tips for Sibling Success | I was generally rather pleased by this delightfully good-natured romp, and I sprouted at least minor wood more than once in the reading. Speaking as if I were a properly certified critic, though, I have to say that you might have dissipated your effort trying to achieve too many aims. You've material enough for several essays, each dealing separately with subject matter that deserves deeper treatment than you were able to deliver here. The divisions in the article were only partially successful, serving (in my mind) as a kind of table of future contents, here only synopsized, or excerpted. In fact, I'd dare urge you to a larger project that dared develop more fully the ideas too-lightly touched in this article. I loved the bantering, almost schizoid, style. A friendliness just oozes all over the place, between the authors, and onto the reader. What's not to like about that? The psychiatrist's couch repartee was hit-or-miss humor; sometimes it worked, but often it didn't. Writing funny is dangerous business; humor readers are a horribly humorless lot, as you know. I'd steer clear of it, myself, but it's your risk to calculate. |

2007-09-19 02:54:11 | Cindi's Top Tips for Sibling Success | I must say, I haven't had time to finish it but what I read so far is really good. It's delightful. However, if you ask me, it would probaly do better in the forum than it would here. Perhaps when I finish reading it I'll have a better understanding of how my sisters' minds work. Maybe I'm just hoping... |
