You could have used spell-check, though; obvious spelling errors diminish interest for many readers. Additionally (and i don't think you Brits care overmuch about this) the many colloquial slang expressions used tend to leave those from other countries a bit in the dark. We have to guess, sometimes, what you mean by certain phrases. That, too, makes the 'enjoyability' facto of a story lower. |
