Similarly, paragraph breaks give the reader time to pause and take breath between different parts of the action. They allow the writer to change the tempo of the story, and they allow the characters to breath.
Having said that, we must acknowledge that not everyone spells well or properly. Americans, for example, have no concept of spelling correctly. Spics speak so badly they couldn't possibly spell.
In addition, not everyone has the education to understand paragraph breaks and other literary constructions.
But anyone can learn, and many of the contributors here have made remarkable progress.
