2006-11-04 12:34:37 | Mixed Metaphors | Gw Brash: 11-04-06 - 02:14: Not a bad tarn. but before you tlel people to learn to spell: metaphors is spelled like that. (like what?) Mr. Brash: I’m not sure what a tarn is, however thank you. The dictionary defines tarn as: tarn (tarn) n. A small mountain lake, especially one formed by glaciers. I imagine you were writing tell and wrote “tlel” instead. Could you have meant “tale?” That would make more sense. I have made errors like that myself. As for the spelling of metaphors; they read the same to me. mixed metaphor: the use in the same expression of two or more metaphors that are incongruous or illogical when combined, as in “The president will put the ship of state on its feet.” |
2006-12-15 02:12:28 | Mixed Metaphors | well written but moving in with a guy and introducing him to your parents after just one date seems a bit fast no matter how good a screw he is. |
